A premier multi-sport athlete during the early and mid 1970s, Kim Rae Dennis was a dominant force for Old Rochester athletics. Kim’s versatility as an athlete was evident on the field hockey field, basketball and volleyball courts, and especially in track and field. She was a proven leader as a captain in all four sports.
During a time when female athletes were beginning to make their mark in athletics, Kim paved the way for ORR as a state record holder in the long jump, 100, and 4x110 relay, as well as being an SMC leading scorer in field hockey and basketball. Volleyball, being the “new introductory sport,” was yet another venue where her talents left a considerable impression.
In the 1970’s, Old Rochester Girls Track was fast becoming the dominant authority in both track and field. On the track, Kim amassed numerous points, medals, and recognition, starting in her freshman year. She was also a leading long jumper and sprinter in the league. Unquestionably, Kim was a force with which to be reckoned with in the SMC League.
Earning 13 varsity letters in four sports is a true testament to Kim’s athletic abilities. Ultimately, Kim went on to earn the Female Athlete of the Year in both her junior and senior years. In addition, she was honored with the Most Outstanding Offense Award in field hockey, and the Most Valuable Player Award in basketball. Furthermore, her high school basketball coach stated, “I am fortunate to have one of the finest players of the league on my team.”
Today, Kim Rae resides in Los Angeles, California and is employed in the Orthopedic Hand Surgery Unit at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center. She had two daughters, Erin Rae, and Danyelle Alexis. She is proud to be called “Nana” by Erin’s three children, and Danyelle is a recent graduate of Cal. State Northridge. Not surprisingly, Kim Rae is still an avid sports fan, and of course LOVES her LAKERS!!!!

SOURCES & HISTORICAL NOTES
October 16, 2026: plaque biography reconciled directly against the existing photograph of the physical 2018 plaque. The inscription matches. Printed errors and induction-era claims remain part of the plaque record; this is not independent verification of every historical claim. No photographs were added or changed.
Physical source: IMG_1903.JPEG; the original photograph was used to read the complete inscription.
Plaque biography transcribed from official 2018 manufacturer artwork and supported by the archived ORRAHOF profile. Time-sensitive family and employment details remain preserved only in the official plaque wording and were omitted from the expanded historical profile. The approved Class of 1975 yearbook portrait was standardized to the Jefferson presentation standard, with the original historical source preserved.
October 2, 2026: physical plaque photograph IMG_1903.HEIC from the inductee's Drive folder visually matched by name and 2018 induction label and attached as the plaque reference. Original retained in Drive. Format conversion only; no crop, retouch or generated detail. Approved primary portrait and earlier biography wording retained. Word-for-word physical-plaque reconciliation remains pending.
The Hall of Fame archive also preserves the complete 2018 display (IMG_1904.HEIC), pairing the historical photograph and induction plaque. That original display is included in the profile gallery.
October 10, 2026: original yearbook material was reviewed and added to the gallery. Captions follow printed labels or describe the team/page without asserting uncertain individual identities. Original files remain in the Hall archive; publication copies use format conversion only.
October 14, 2026: text-only editorial review against the existing Hall biography and source notes. Avoids supplying sprint units that the existing plaque transcription does not state. This review does not certify an exact physical-plaque match or current record status.
Follow-up: Confirm event units and contemporary state-record marks before adding a detailed records table.
