Hall of Fame Plaque Biography

Joshua Mechler graduated ORR in 2000. A 4 year starter in soccer, he was considered one of the premier players in all of Massachusetts. He was asked to play for the Division 1 post season all star game his senior year.

Josh was an SCC all star for 4 years, Eastern Mass all star for 2, leading scorer for 3 years, MVP for 2 years, and team captain for 3 years. Josh also played basketball for 4 years at ORR.

Josh went on to play soccer at Merrimack College on a scholarship graduating with a degree in Biochemistry. He is married with three daughters and coaches youth soccer still.

Joshua “Josh” Mechler was a four-year varsity soccer starter at Old Rochester Regional and became one of the leading players in Massachusetts during his era. As a senior, he was selected to compete in the Division I postseason All-Star game.

Mechler earned South Coast Conference All-Star recognition in all four seasons and was named an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star twice. He led ORR in scoring for three years, received team MVP honors twice, and served as captain during each of his final three seasons. He also competed in basketball throughout his four years at ORR.

After graduating in 2000, Mechler continued his soccer career at Merrimack College on an athletic scholarship. He completed his college education with a degree in biochemistry.
