Back in the early years of Old Rochester, their athletics programs were dependent on individual athletes that excelled at multiple sports. Clifton Lopes was a shining example of an athlete that was so versatile that he made his teammates better at a time when the school needed him most. He was a 3 sport star for all 4 years at ORR. Cliff was the ultimate team player with talent that could have broken many records but often sacrificed individual achievements for the good of his teams.
Cliff was a Standard Times All Star in football, Basketball, and Track in which he competed in the 400, high jump, hurdles, and relays. In football he was a member of the undefeated 65/66 football team. Cliff joins his two children Cliff, and Tiffany, in being honored on the Athletic Hall of Fame for the entire Lope’s family to be proud of.
