Hall of Fame Plaque Biography

Back in the early 1980’s, Amy was the most dominant all- around female athlete in her time at Old Rochester. Limited by few options for girls locally, she took up volleyball, basketball and softball when entering high school and was dominating competitor immediately. Amy was not to be denied in sports. In fact, she was the first ever girl to play Little League Baseball in the Town of Rochester. As a Bulldog, Amy Beaulieu was a four year member of the Lady Bulldog Basketball Team that had an unprecedented success run from 1978-82. She served as captain in her senior year. The four year run included 4 straight league championships in the SMC with a record of 47-3 and an overall record 75-16 and 4 trips to the South Sectional Finals. During her three year varsity career, she started at the small forward spot often drawing the toughest defensive assignment. Her defensive prowess and tenacity on the boards earned her SMC All Star status during her junior and senior years and Standard Times Super Team recognition her senior year.

“Amy was one of the finest defenders and tenacious rebounders in the 41 years that I have coached the Lady Bulldogs.” Coach Bob Hohne

THE COMPLETE STORY

Expanded Historical Profile

Amy Beaulieu was one of Old Rochester Regional’s dominant female athletes of the early 1980s, competing in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Before high school, she had already broken a local barrier by becoming the first girl credited with playing Little League Baseball in Rochester.

Beaulieu was a four-year member and three-year varsity starter for a Lady Bulldog basketball program that won four consecutive Southeastern Massachusetts Conference championships from 1978 through 1982. During that span, ORR compiled a 47–3 league record, finished 75–16 overall, and reached four South Sectional finals. Beaulieu captained the team as a senior and regularly handled its most demanding defensive assignment.

Her defense and rebounding brought SMC All-Star recognition during her junior and senior seasons and selection to the Standard-Times Super Team as a senior. Coach Bob Hohne later described Beaulieu as one of the finest defenders and most tenacious rebounders of his ORR coaching career.

SOURCES & HISTORICAL NOTES

Documenting the record

October 16, 2026: plaque biography reconciled directly against the existing photograph of the physical 2019 plaque. The inscription matches. Printed errors and induction-era claims remain part of the plaque record; this is not independent verification of every historical claim. No photographs were added or changed.

Verified against original 2019 Hall of Fame manufacturer artwork supplied by ORRAHOF. The ceremony recording identifies her as Amy Beaulieu Filloramo; the Hall of Fame profile retains the induction name Amy Beaulieu. The approved Class of 1982 yearbook portrait was standardized to the Jefferson presentation standard, with the original historical source preserved.

October 2, 2026: physical plaque photograph IMG_1914.JPEG from the inductee's Drive folder visually matched by name and 2019 induction label and attached as the plaque reference. Original retained in Drive. Webflow encoding compression only; no crop, retouch or generated detail. Approved primary portrait and earlier biography wording retained. Word-for-word physical-plaque reconciliation remains pending.

The Hall of Fame archive also preserves the complete 2019 display (IMG_1913.JPEG), pairing the historical photograph and induction plaque. That original display is included in the profile gallery.
