The 1962 Cross Country team has the great distinction of bringing the first state championship to Old Rochester Regional High School. Coached by Norm Fuller, the 1962 Cross Country team captured the Class F State Championship, which was all the more remarkable considering it was only ORRHS’s first year in existence. Five of the ORR runners who ran in the state championship meet placed in the top 20 among well over 100 runners. Congratulations to Coach Fuller and his harriers of 1962.

INDUCTION CEREMONY

SOURCES & HISTORICAL NOTES
The 2014 plaque biography was checked word for word against the original physical plaque photograph IMG_1938.JPEG. Its wording is preserved.
Championship classification: the plaque calls the championship Class F. The contemporaneous ORR yearbook identifies the State Class E title, and the school’s gym banner was confirmed by the Hall as Class E. The expanded history follows the yearbook and banner, while the plaque transcription preserves the induction wording.
The yearbook supplies the team photograph, roster, championship text, trophy and medal photograph. Original sources remain in the Hall archive. The 2014 ceremony recording labels the linked segment “1964 Cross Country Team”; this label differs from the verified 1962–63 Hall record.
